REALITY

HOME

  by Mathew Cheung

What reality do you see?
Is it the same
As the one I see?
Then what is this shame,
These black tapestries
That cover your eyes
And make you see another reality?
Absorbed here in lies--
Drowning in delusions
And you think you're swimming,
Consumed in confusion--
While diligently dreaming.
You white-washed the fence red
And saw a yellow sky--
Alive, you thought dead
Low, you believed high.
In perfection you saw flaws
And contentment grew hunger
To consume it all.
I dare to wonder
What reality you see
And why it can't be
The same kind of reality
That we all see.
