DESTINATION ROAD

HOME

  by Mathew Cheung

I took the road less traveled by
Not knowing where to go,
Singing a sweet lullaby
I find a field of snow.

And now that I'm on the road,
It doesn't seem so different.
Quiet, lonely, and somewhat cold
Differences seem less apparent.

Footprints, strewn across the land,
I know I'm not alone.
For others stood where I stand
Miles away from home.

I took the road less traveled by
Not knowing where to go
And now it seems so hot and dry
Down old Cannery Row.

Standing on a hilltop
Looking down the valley
Only to find a cheap stage prop
From some old Hollywood movie.

Down the road less traveled by
I turn to look around
Crouching down, I weep and cry,
Upon this humbled ground.

Now I pause, to stand here
And I look to all horizons,
Everywhere is nowhere,
No sight of my destination.
